With the world’s largest free trade area and a 1.2 billion-person market, of which over half of it is under 30 years of age, Africa is creating a new development path, harnessing the potential of its resources and people, and Africa South Business Group is poised to facilitate that. The African continent is emerging as the new frontier for growth and opportunity and ASBG is working to present this new reality to the world on behalf of the continent’s private sector.
Our History
ASBG incubated its establishment in the midst of the global Covid-19 pandemic through a consortium of founding members in Zimbabwe. A number of regional Chapters were established shortly thereafter in some SADC states, all with similar objectives. SADC states onboarding currently ongoing, this will be followed by global registration in key markets for international cooperation and scalability
Overarching Policy Initiatives
Easing and or mitigating restrictions limiting international trade and investment, whilst facilitating access to global financial markets. Fostering the provision of essential services and the security of property and person. Promoting and facilitating the development of infrastructure, incorporating transport, energy, water, and communication. Supporting private sector initiatives in education and health, as well as the adoption of efficient, inclusive and constructive revenue collection systems to support government activities.

Advocacy in the
Global Economy
ASBG was formed with the mission of engaging the international community for the Southern African Region’s development. This mandate will be accomplished through leveraging key decision makers in business and restoring global networks and relationships.
